When experience matters.

Alderleaf Land and Tree Services is and family owned and operated family business serving Haida Gwaii since 2021.  Chris Poschmann has previously been active in the BC forest industry since the late nineties in most all aspects of silviculture and also fire-control and some harvesting. He has been a BC Certified Faller for 25+ years and has over 22+ years of experience as a professional arborist and tree-climber. This includes time spent in Kelowna (circa 2002) climbing for a small tree service and crane company and also time spent in Victoria (circa 2004) climbing for a large, nationally branded tree company.  Through these experiences he has gained valuable first-hand knowledge working with a full variety of ornamental trees and shrubs in several different BC climate-zones;  he has worked with a variety of fruit trees, common and exotic, in both large agricultural and residential settings; and he gained extensive experience in rigging large trees both with a crane and without.  Chris is a certified and experienced Wildlife/ Danger Tree Assessor – Parks and Rec. and has previous experience assessing danger-trees for wildfire and also logging and harvest.

Chris has been working with trees on Haida Gwaii since 2004 and over the years has had the opportunity to live in a variety of island communities including Daajing Giids, Tlell, Sandspit and Port Clements.
